The Annual Black Excellence in Mental Health Sneaker Gala, hosted by Peel Dem Layers Back, is a vibrant celebration at the intersection of culture, community, and healing. Held each May in Cleveland, the gala honors leaders advancing mental wellness within Black and Brown communities. The event features awards, live music, and a unique sneaker-themed dress code, blending hip-hop culture with mental health advocacy.

This annual event not only recognizes and celebrates community changemakers but also fosters a space where joy, resilience, and cultural pride converge, reinforcing the importance of mental health in the Black community
