MY VIOLIN WEIGHS A TON
The four and a half month project fused hip-hop and classical music to address areas of growth for mental health, including social anxiety, acts of kindness, and parental engagement with the students, aged 4-14, at Lexington-Bell teaching them to play hip-hop on classical guitars in front of their community at the world-renowned Severance Hall.
My Violin Weighs a Ton: In 2019, PDLB partnered with the Lexington-Bell Community Center and the Cleveland Orchestra for the innovative project, “My Violin Weighs A Ton.” The four and a half month project fused hip-hop and classical music to address areas of growth, including social anxiety, acts of kindness, and parental engagement with the students, aged 4-14, at Lexington-Bell teaching them to play Hip Hop on classical guitars in front of their community at the world-renowned Severance Hall.
The follow-up to My Violin Weighs A Ton has been postponed due to COVID-19.
